Bear and Donut Stay Afloat

By Lily Liu

Bear and Donut wanted to go floating! But there was a problem.

“I don’t have a float!” Bear said, “How will we go floating without a float?”

“Don’t worry, I don’t have a float either. You can use me as a float! I can hold you, and I can float, so you can ride me!” Donut exclaimed.

So Bear and Donut went floating, with Bear sitting on top of Donut.

“You’ll never have to worry, Bear. You have me! Donut.”

The river was only a mile away, but a mile was still a lot for Donut to walk.

“My legs are getting tired,” Donut sighed, “Bear, can you walk?”

“All right, I can walk. you can ride me.”

So Bear walked the other half of the mile to Glorious Day River. “Now we can float! It is such a glorious da— it’s not day anymore!” Bear gasped.

Even if it was not day, Bear and Donut went floating, and soon they were asleep.

Donut woke up to the sound of rushing water. “Oh no! Bear it’s a waterfall!” Donut shouted.

“Oh no!” Bear’s eyes popped open.

“Huh? River rafting? Donut! Are you trying to trick me?” Bear asked.

“No, I’m not! There was a waterfall, and we were Donut-rafting and you were on top of me and suddenly we were all back at my house and I was so relieved!” Donut said.

“Donut!” Bear laughed. “It was just a dream!”

“Let’s go real rafting!” Bear stood up and blew up his rideable dolphin floatie.

“Yeah, let’s!” Donut agreed and stood up too. Donut and blew up his otter floatie.

So the two went rafting, and never again did this strange dream pop up. And they never ever saw that waterfall again.
